If you're a rental property owner don't risk your apartment to Unison Housing. I had a terrible experience in 2021/2022 with their renter. Absolutely trashed my apartment in Melbourne CBD. Even the fire brigade was call in! Unison Housing did not restore my apartment to the condition it was when first rented. The property manager accused me of damaging the range hood, which was not replaced after their renter was evicted. Stay away from Unison Housing the Property Managers are not professional people.
Please avoid Unison at all costs. The affordable rent is not worth your mental health being compromised. Moved into a rental apartment in Fitzroy and managed to stay there for only 3 weeks because it was just not safe. Dirty environment, drug addicts, no security, people sleeping outside at the front of the building etc etc … After I had moved out I have been sending countless messages to the place manager to provide an update on when I can expect to receive my bond back. It's harrowing enough to see how badly Unison treats people in need of housing, so let me also tell you about another aspect of their work that leaves a lot to be desired: Managing problem clients.
