Underground Art, Inc. was conceived in 1992 and birthed February 1st, 1993 by Angela Russell and David Evans, with a little help from friends. We went on to be voted one of Memphis' best tattoo and piercing studios for...oh my, we've lost count...but it's well over 14 years and counting. Great Shop/Wonderful Artists/Incredible Atmosphere – What a great tattoo shop! I've gotten work from David Evans and Jake Meeks, both amazing artists. David worked on one piece for me for over a year. He's always pleasant and great to talk to, just like all of the staff at UA. I've had work done at other shops and they just don't add up. Very unprofessional – For most of us who are heavily tattooed we have been in or around several tattoo shops and have met artists who really care about their clients ideas,opinions and concerns and try to give them a positive tattoo experience that results in a quality custom tattoo. I was there about a yr ago and had a fairy tattooed on my back and I was speechless with the end result. I have never been so satisfied with a tattoo. The tattoo was very detailed, beautiful colors and more than I expected. The staff is mazing, very friendly and they make you feel at home.
Great Experience...first timer – I got my first tattoo last week at Underground Art. I was VERY nervous, but it was a good experience. They require that you come in for a consultation and pay a deposit before making an appointment to have the work done. They gave me an estimate of $150-$200 and 2.5 hours to do what I wanted (I came in with a design, rather than choosing from one of their books). Vanessa did an amazing job. Fantastic tattoo and piercing shop – Hands down, the best shop around. Super clean, friendly, great prices, phenomenal work. i've seen a lot of other shops in and around in this city and this place is by far the best.
