About this business

Uncommon Ground is unlike other Chicago restaurants because it features a certified rooftop farm growing organic produce. Sprawled over 2500 square feet (232 square meters), its wood-decked terrace has earthboxes, planter boxes and novel irrigation systems to grow thyme, rosemary, heirloom tomatoes, mustard, shallots, okra, parsley and tarragon among many other vegetables and herbs. Colorful zinnias, nasturtiums, marigolds and calendulas also grow in the soil. The terrace has solar panels for heating water, while all the woo... read more

Excellent food, nice place I took some friends here and was not disappointed--it is as good as they say. Inventive flavors, just really yummy food. I had white sangria, sweet potato fries with melted goat cheese, and a nicely seasoned piece of lamb (that I'll admit, was a bit overcooked...but still very tasty.) We were sat in the music room, so it got too loud for conversation, but still a nice concept.

Great Addition to Rogers Park – This was a much needed addition to Rogers Park! The food is out of this world and the martinis are even better. I really hope this place stays open as it is a much needed addition to our changing neighborhood. Make sure and try to Buffalo Rib eye or the Short ribs both are my favorite. For an appetizer make sure to splurge and get the Mac and Cheese you will not be disappointed.

The owners of the beloved Wrigleyville cafe tempt with an Edgewater eatery focused on sustainable ingredients and live music. – The Scene This one-time supper club is more inviting than its Wrigleville sister with its boisterous dining rooms done in exposed brick, wood tabletops reclaimed from Jackson Park trees and a cozy fireplace that opens to both the bar and middle seating area. Judging from the amount of families in the place, Edgewater needed this, but its barnhouse chic theme appeals to couples, too. A small stage ho... read more
