Waited 45 minutes on a Saturday afternoon to be seated but so worth it! The service was great - lots of happy, friendly faces. Of course we tried the guacamole and queso - yum! I had the pork and chicken tamales which were the best I ever tasted. Definitely need to go back because there are so many more things on the menu we want to try.
This place is usually pretty hard to beat for Mexican food in this area. The menu has a pretty wide range of tex-mex classics, and the chili rellenos are usually pretty good.
The atmosphere was lacking due to the openness of the space. It's very loud, making it hard to enjoy the meal. We had a reservation, but that doesn't mean too much here. The front of house was a little rude to us when we came to claim our table. The menus had sauce on them that needed wiped off. Good points were our actual waiter, who was very nice and friendly and the table side guac. Our whole party enjoyed our food.
I'm going with the queso as being the best dish that I've had from there. Tried the chicken and shrimp fajitas as well, no complaints.
Hired Casa Grande/Uncle Julios to cater a recent birthday party and was very pleased with the experience. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and professional and are bartender served up some of the best margaritas ever. Always good food at the restaurant, but their catering service exceeded our expectations.
Good food but I was so disappointed to know they charge $10 per car to park in their lot on North Avenue. I met my husband who came seperately and I could not see paying $20 to park for dinner. We then went to K Rico Mexican Restaurant off of Diverse and Southport Avenue and parked for free in the muffler shop Lott next door no hassle and great food.
Walked into the place realized that it was a mixture of Mexican , Indian and American . Waiter took long to get drinks for me and my homie . We order our food waited another 30 mins to see that the portion for the carne Asada was small. Could of bought a bigger portion at la Michiocana , later on we got some waiter asking if we wanted salsa , we couldn't hear him and wanted to give us everything . Place was not as good as expected
i like the steak but the rice and beans are horrible and i agree the service is bad.
I love Uncle Julio's, they always have good food here and good service. We went to a restaurant across the street, and there was over an hour wait. We came here, and we waited about 20 minutes. This restaurant is huge, ample amount of seating, and you don't have to wait long to get seated
