I arrived soon after UNC urgent care opened yesterday morning, was in an exam room within 20 minutes, seen by practicioner soon after that and received treatment for my poison ivy rash. I have Medicare Advantage insurance and the bill was exactly what I was told it would be when I entered. I was leaving within 40 minutes of my arrival. Everyone I encountered was very courteous. Thank you to the staff there.
Very disappointed with the billing I received from this urgent care. I was there for only 2 hours and was given a rapid COVID and flu test—nothing more. They claimed that was the reason for the $260 charge, which is outrageous. Even with good insurance, it only reduced the cost by $30. I later visited a different urgent care where I was told they would never charge more than $50 total for both tests, even without insurance. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. The pricing is excessive and not transparent.
To all the staff who worked during the 1:00-2:30 urgent care visit, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your quick response to my medical emergency. I experienced an asthma attack on my way home and rushed to the nearest urgent care without an inhaler. Upon my arrival, the wonderful front desk staff remained calm and worked quickly to get me checked in. Within five minutes or less, I was brought back to a room. Kind nurse, assessed my symptoms and provided great care. Doctor was swift and efficient. In and out within 45 min with a same day appointment. Grateful for UNC Health professionals!
Drove 40 minutes to be seen as a walk in parking lot was empty 1-1/2 hours before close just to be told they reached capacity for the day. 4+ office people in the back but can’t see patients smh never be back
