They need to be shut down they dont treat anything as an emergency plus a simple fix takes 4hrs plus SMH so sad
This is the 2nd time I have had to come to this Er and have been waiting for more than 5hrs and left without being seen due to this atrocity! The first time was for my son after a 4hr wait just sitting in the lobby I left. Today I’ve been waiting for 5hrs to rule out possible appendicitis and have not had any answers. They are not busy at all and this waiting is absolutely ridiculous. I have been to wake med ER (which is a big hospital/organization just like UNC) in the past and have never had this happen.
The ER staff at this hospital which I saw were great, which includes Nicholas Alexander, FNP. He diagnosed my problem quickly, and listened to my concerns thoroughly. I am a pharmacist. I cannot say the same for the admitting staff I dealt with, but every practitioner is different. This is a much better ER to use for a convenient and quick diagnosis vs the other campus. In the end, I didn't stay to be admitted, though I waited 4 hours without treatment for a serious condition, which would have taken 6-8 hours from diagnosis.... read more

I took my dad to the Hillsborough UNC ER yesterday afternoon 7/17/25 The lady in the hallway room taking blood was very rude and dismissive. She was talking to the lady who came in to take and EKG on my dad, she didn't speak to us at all. She kept talking about her dog needing daycare. Touching her phone with her glove on and going back to try and draw blood. My dad is 78 and was in pain she couldn't get blood from the right arm.
