Just recently attended the South Island Tour. I was anxious in the lead up as I took the last position in a tour with a group that turned out to be very competent, long term and ex-competitive riders. Soon proved I was out of my league and lost my mojo with this group and the conditions.... not wanting to compromise their experience I am grateful to the tour guides: Rob, Phil (and Michael in the support van) for allowing me to take alternate routes and providing me with some one on one in the last two days. One of the best adventure rides I have ever done. The scenery in the South Island and organisation by the team was exceptional. The guides (Rob and Ant) absolutely made the trip. Will do it again for sure.
What an experience. I just finished the 5 days southern passes tour with Adam Riemann and what an absolute blast. Steve and his team made for a truely memorable experience with some epic riding thrown in between some tall tales and plenty of laughter over a beer at the end of the day. Couldn’t have asked for a better crew to ride with and getting to shred tyres swinging off Adam Riemann’s back tyre will long live on in my memory as the stories get taller, faster and more crazy with old age blurring the truth.
