The care provided is excellent but the wait times are ridiculous. We waited over 6 hours for my pup to be seen for an eye ulcer. She was in alot of pain.
My dog got hit by a pickup truck and we came to u of i after calling them to let them know we was driving an hour just to sit in waiting room for 7 hour and watched 13 other animal come in get jump a head with out my dog getting examined. And I understand stand priorities but no idea in my dog has internal injuries. We was finally next like 2 am for like over an hour. They obviously did want to or examen my dog to make sure she ok so. They make big procedures financially affordable / tolerable. It is such a relief from the big dollars the for profit places charge. Now we can just focus on what is the best choices for our beloved pet. All my experiences with the staff has been great, from reception, to ER, to oncology and radiology. It is such a hard time, but they definitely try to help at a reasonable price for what these types of procedures typically cost. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dash and the entire team that cared for my baby boy Koda before, during, and after his thoracic duct ligation surgery. They are all very warm, kind, and you can tell they truly care about their patients & their owners. Thanks to them, Koda is thriving again. They saved his life, and I will be forever grateful.
We live in STL, but we were home visiting family in central Illinois when our French Bulldog had an emergency. We drove up to U of I where we waiting a reasonable amount of time before seeing the initial triage. They didn't seem terribly concerned about our dog (who was slowly losing function of his back legs) and told us they'd recommend labs and medication (which we'd already been giving him and explained that), but it would be a 4-6 hour wait.
