About 5 weeks prior I started to feel sick. Whatever it was turned into a sinus infection and bad chest congestion. I asked for a steroid shot to quickly head it off and the lady that takes your temperature says we don’t give shots here but maybe the nurse practitioner would in your case. The nurse practitioner came in and listened to me and looked down my throat. She instantly wanted to do a Covid test. Made an appointment on my chart with the understanding that I would be notified with my appointment time came so I can show up didn’t receive any notification after two hours so I went up there myself just to be told that my appointment got canceled because I didn’t show up and I would have to go back to the end of the line and waited additional 2 1/2 hours to be seeing beyond what I had already waited. Could not recommend this place less
As a heads up for anyone debating whether or not to choose a UIHC urgent care: If they cannot guarantee your insurance will cover your visit, they will not see you until you can speak to financial counseling. This means you cannot be seen anytime on weekends or after 9-5 on a weekday, and they will refer you to the emergency room. Timely access yo healthcare, is co-housed with occupational health so sometimes pts mix & wait in the same area. Works best when you reserve your place while on the way and pre-answer the questions regarding medical needs etc.
