Very disappointed with my experience at UHS Vestal. This was my first and last visit. My relative went there once before and warned me — I really should have listened. My visit left me questioning their integrity and billing practices. The doctor completely dismissed my actual concerns and instead ordered several expensive lab tests that had nothing to do with my symptoms. To give NP, J.P zero stars, I would. I came to her as my primary care provider with a very simple, reasonable request: a letter supporting an emotional support animal—a kitten—for my school apartment due to my ongoing struggles with anxiety. Not only did she dismiss my concerns, she acted as though I was making it up, saying I “didn’t have enough evidence of anxiety or depression.” That’s incredibly insulting, especially considering that nearly every visit I’ve ever had to a doctor has been because of anxiety. I’ve seen podiatry, orthopedics, gynecology and mammogram and physical therapy, all in these two buildings!
I’ve went in to the gynecologist office here many times and mi visits have all been a huge waste of my time- I give them my concerns, they run a test for things I’m not concerned about, and then say “the test came back negative so you’re good to go, let us know if the problem doesn’t go away.” These are issues I’ve had for years. They try to pressure me into talking (hormonal) birth control regardless of how many times I say no, I don’t want to take it, I’ve already been on it and I have no interest.
