Waited 80 minutes for a blood draw a few months ago. Had to go again this morning and arrived at 7:15. Room full of people waiting and 2 people drawing blood. Waited 40 minutes, after being told it would be 30 minutes. Again, 2 people drawing blood so I left. Called ordering physician and requested they fax order to Guthrie at Shippers Road. Perhaps IJHS should hire a few more overpaid administrators to study the problem of insufficient staffing? Budget can come from firing a C-suite onlooker. Horrible service, consistently.
I hadn't had an issue with this lab until today. The person taking the blood seemed like she had the sniffles, but wasn't wearing a mask. She tried to find a vein and was unsuccessful with the first arm. She got some out of the second try on my other arm, and then called in another person to assist her. The new person tried a vein on my right hand and said the vein "blew". The other hand was tried, and failed. During the afternoon of Friday February 7th, I attended the UHS laboratory to proceed with necessary blood work from my practitioner. Although the phlebotomist was pleasant & attentive, I do have concerns regarding infection control, hand hygiene & glove integrity. The complaint is not about the trainee, more so about the person training that had to intervene due to difficulty locating my vein. Very disappointed waiting 2 hrs for blood work
Waited 2 hours…heard one of the receptionist state numerous times that Monday and Friday mornings are by far the busiest So- why wouldn’t UHS have adequate staffing to address this issue? 2 hours and I’m still waiting after being told I was next and more staff just started….🤨.
