I don't think this place is good. And for me, that's great because how do you know you're eating good food without sometimes not eating good food. I am not sure if we went on a bad night or what. A few dishes were not available to order. overall, the food was poor. Everything was so spicy. That's fine, I get it - it's Thai food done traditionally. However, it was so spicy and not balanced. Unfortunately the menu is not only limited, but what was actually available was not up to the standard it had in the old place. The biggest issue was the service. When we were seated for our reservation, we were told that we only had an hour and 15 minutes to dine due to another reservation, something that was not disclosed when we made the reservation. Don’t come. They only have an extremely reduced menu printed on a piece of A4 paper (only deep fried and stewed stuff). Like, if you don’t have a cook in the kitchen you should let people who made appointments know before they come. Totally a waste of time.

The new location is so, so disappointing. I'd been to the original Ugly Baby 4-5 times and it was always great. The menu at the new location was extremely limited, with only about 8 items total to choose from, of at least one was not available (I came in very shortly after opening). I can let that go since they're new, but what stood out more than anything was the absolutely abysmal service I received from a bartender named Am. Extremely disappointing, especially because I had previously been a fan of Ugly Baby’s Carroll Gardens location. I liked it enough that I decided to celebrate my birthday here this year and booked a table for 7 nearly a month in advance. I called and left messages multiple times leading up to the reservation to confirm everything, but never received a response.
