I had to visit this New UF Ocala Neighborhood Hospital for a CT scan today. First time as I have extensive medical issues as I’m awaiting a Heart Transplant for a little context. Awesome facility. As far as the Radiology unit. From the Check-in ( friendly) , wait time (which was literally nothing), the nurses in the back struggled to get an IV on me due to my lack of Veins, after two sticks a guy was called in either an Ultrasound machine. Very shocked! While team was nice, I was provided a estimate for non insured self pay of $2000.00 for a 2 hour visit with a kidney stone. A CT, 2 pain meds, 1 to help break up stone, 1 bag of ringers. Bill on portal came @$3850.00, almost double!!!! $2000.00 an hour, really? I reached out and got a reply of you already got a discount! And a financial assistance form. As an uninsured, retired single person, this means I'll die with this bill. You all should be ashamed. NEVER AGAIN. If they give an "estimate bill" for self pay......ignore it. Your bill will be MUCH HIGHER. As in THOUSANDS more......NEVER AGAIN. Come on UF seriously? 2hrs and $4000 bill???
