I was referred to UF Health Ocala by a local nurse practitioner and UF Shands to assist with lab work due to hypoglycemia. I was clear about not being emergent and placed in the chaplain's room to talk to the doctor. I was billed over $4000 even though no services were performed. My insurance denied the claim and I contacted them to dispute it anyway. As it turns out, they didn't even have an operational lab at that time so it was a useless visit. Worst Hospital...... I took my daughter for an allergic reaction and was never given a room and then the doctor came in and instead of the doctor feeling my daughter's stomach for whatever they check for she told me to feel her stomach and asked me what it felt like then the doctor stated that they don't do anything that has to do with allergies and sent us home.

This place is the rudest slowest ER in all of Ocala! Don’t go there if you need anything serious because they can’t really do much and they’ll just send you up to Shands. So unless you’re dying, just drive to Gainesville because if they send you in an ambulance there you will be over 4-6 hours waiting on that.

Absolutely the best emergency department, staff and medical personnel were top flight. First time using UF health , couldn’t have been more pleasant experience.
