UDR builds horrific buildings and does not take care of them. Since December 17, 2025 I have had three water related incidents. The first was a leek from a terrace above my living room which caused the opening of the ceiling and had blowers and dehumidifiers in the apartment for four days. loud? HUGE MOUSE ISSUE. NO OPTIONS FOR LEASE END. I lost my family home in the LA fires in Jan and looked forward to my first chance of real rest and recovery at Bradlee Danvers (a UDR managed property) by moving here after we got married this summer. Moving to this UDR property, Capitol View on 14th, located in Washington DC, was a legitimate nightmare. I sincerely had no idea what I was in for despite the treatment I received from the moment I entered the leasing office. The horror began that very moment. Tatiana, the leasing agent at the time, stated that the rents were too expensive and that I should seek an apartment in another part of town. The property also had a $100 move-special at the time. I moved out on May 25, 2025, and as of July 8, 2025, I have yet to receive my security deposit. Despite multiple attempts to contact both the building staff and the management company, my calls and emails have gone mostly unanswered. On several occasions, I was told a check would be sent with two-day tracking, yet no such payment has been provided and or tracking number. I’ve even had to rely on building staff just to get any kind of response, which is unacceptable for a professionally managed property. The Manager of 21 Che... read more
