Find another primary care provider if possible - this place is understaffed and poorly ran. First, good luck trying to get ahold of anyone at the front desk. You’ll likely spend at least 30 minutes on hold listening to “we’re experiencing higher than normal call volume” message on repeat. Takes forever just to get an appointment. I hadn’t seen my doctor in about a year, but needed a critical prescription refilled. My request was denied and was told I needed to make an appointment to get it refilled. I had a very poor experience here, both with my doctor and on the administrative side. The doctor was dismissive and missed something major than my next doctor easily investigated and solved. It felt like this doctor did not have the time or interest in solving my issue. The admin/tech side seemed very outdated and inefficient compared to other doctor's offices. They need to improve the quality of their patient care overall.
I don't have any complaints. Everyone and everything is so good! My insurance coverage works fine with UCSF San Mateo and they don't charge more than $15.
Highly unprofessional and non-ethical billing department. They charge me for both preventative PCP visit and preventative labs, which both are fully covered by insurance. I received a bill of ~$870 which is a mistake and it has been hard to find a resolution. please avoid UCSF San Mateo.
