Came to visit this emergency room at night. And waited for 3 hours, just to be seen for a bacteria stomach infection, which was diagnosed by another hospital and treated by that hospital. So I was misdiagnosed by UCLA Santa Monica Medical Emergency Room night crew. They said I had no infection and to go home. They didn't provide me with no pain medication or any medication at all. My ER visit was on 10/06/2026 around 2pm. My doctor was Dr B Goodfriend and I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He really cares about his patient's. Everything was explained and he never cut me off while talking and answered all my questions and concerns. He has a way of assuring you that you are heard,cared for and in great hands. This is so sad. Emergency Room looks like a covid ward. Everyone is exhausted. 3 hours wait. My ill grand parent was terribly tired before getting admitted.
I suspected I had pinworms. Urgent cares said they sent samples out to a lab, but go to an ER for faster diagnosis. This ER said I'd need to pay the $200 copay and be seen before they could even *tell me if* they could do the diagnosis on the spot or whether they'd send out for the same lab as the urgent cares. Pediatricians can diagnose on the spot, but none of them will see me as I'm an adult.
Went in with a bad rash, just about everyone was super nice and helpful, and got me taken care of
