I absolutely loved the private labor and postpartum rooms, which featured state-of-the-art facilities. The nurses and staff were always available at the slightest request, making me feel comfortable throughout my entire stay. They consistently checked in every two hours and were on call whenever I needed assistance. I was there for four days--two days for induction and then delivery via a minimally invasive C-section. I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and hospital birth experience I had here. I drove from over an hour away to give birth at a hospital where I felt supported in my desire to have a vbac with competent and confident staff. I want to also give recognition due to Tanisha our nurse in Labor and Delivery. She was very knowledgeable in helping me change positions and was a super personable and supportive nurse. I am so thankful for my experience giving birth here. The doctors and nurses honored my desire to have a non-medicated VBAC and worked with my birth plan to help me have an amazing birth experience. Every single nurse and provider that took care of me during postpartum were kind, friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms and facilities were comfortable.

I gave birth to all 3 of my babies here (different births) and would do them all over again with the UCLA Santa Monica L&D team. There was not one single staff, nurse or doctor that was not nice or didn't listen to my needs/requests. I'll report on my most recent birth though which made me want to write this review. Firstly, the L&D nurses are all amazing and they all listen to your questions and concerns without judgement and they do take those requests seriously assuming they are deemed safe for you and baby. I delivered my son at BirthPlace SM last week and I can’t say enough how wonderful the staff was throughout the entire process. All of my nurses were so wonderful (Lindsay, Kerry Anne, Ollie, Diana, Carly, Sheree, Cara) and the doctors were all outstanding as well. I had a difficult labor and I got all the support I needed! I’m beyond grateful for all their help.
