Dr Izon has been my diabetic Dr for more than four years now. She has been wonderful in encouraging me as my type 1 gets harder to manage. I feel that she is truly my health partner. This month, she confirmed that I had a rare endocrine disorder. She spent almost an hour explaining what I needed to do next, what it all means to me now and with my diabetes. She actively made sure that I got a timely appointment with her recommended surgeon. Dr Izon takes the time to make sure that I understand.
Awful endocrinologist. She wrote me prescriptions that were only valid for 6 months, and didn't tell me that she wasn't writing them for the full year, as every single other endo I've ever met with has. When I tried to refill this month, my pharmacy said that she was denying the refill request. I messaged her, and she said I needed to have a follow-up in order for her to be willing to refill them (these are daily, T1DM scrips). Been with her for years. She is extremely smart, direct and no nonsense.
Mean, won't let others speak.Waited to check out, but all were gone. Called our, and she was mad I was still there. I was doing what I was told, to check out. Didn't respect my brain and connumication issues. for all the special tests, she said my PCP could go over them. I hadn't make a new pt appt. Not new pt, been going there 20+ years. Dr Izon is dismissive and angers easily when challenged. She was certain I had thyroid problems but got angry when I disagreed. I told her my symptoms suggest that I might be Type 1 diabetic. When I challenged her and asked her to order all the lab work I needed to support her diagnosis of thyroid issues and rule out my suspicions of Type 1 diabetes, she became flippant and nasty.
