I cannot recommend Dr. Benson. I tried to work with him for help with an health issue I suspected having that a family member was diagnosed with. Instead of trying to connect me directly to a doctor that could diagnose and treat the issue, he referred me to a counselor/therapist in the same building who would have no such ability and essentially sent me out on my own. I first saw him when my last doctor (who was amazing) retired. It was a simple thing, dealt with in one visit. He wasn't warm, but it worked out. Recently I went back with a more complicated problem. He agreed to do some labs, which we did. It was a Friday, so he said he'd call Mon or Tues. Its been a week and he has not contacted me at all. This review is about DOCTOR BENSON. My experience with Dr. Benson was atrocious. He was late to the telehealth appointment by over ten minutes. Despite spending only 15 minutes total with me (during which it became abundantly clear that he was not a good fit, and that I would NOT be moving forward to have him as my family doc) the charge to my insurance company, plus company, was OVER $250 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING—NO MEDICAL CARE OR ADVICE. Won't listen to you and won't work with pharmacies then will blame you for the lack. Also completely unwilling to actually treat anything.

Dr. Benson ordered Vitamin D testing without letting me know that it was no more covered by the insurance. The insurance stated that the change was communicated to the doctor and he had my insurance information. Strange, why communicated to the doctor as at the end I was financially responsible for it. I have been charged $300 for something I never asked for. It was ordered by the doctor without any need. Very unprofessional and irresponsible person, who never got back to me. Look for doctor who cares.

Almost no insurance provider covers vitamin D testing as part of a wellness exam so I am paying for this out of pocket, and the usefulness of testing for vitamin D has been in question for years. As you leave the appointment, he tells you to stop by the lab on the way. While convenient, they charge 7x more for the test than a stand-alone lab. If all of the tests are covered as part of the wellness exam I appreciate the convenience, if I'm paying a $300 premium (for an unneeded test!) I'll shop around. What concerns me is tha... read more
