I had a really terrible experience with Dr Ruiz when I went to UCHealth for a ECV to flip my breech baby. The morning started with an incredible nursing team Everyone I worked with was kind, encouraging and hopeful we would flip my baby. The procedure is intense and needed a spinal block to be preformed. Anesthesiologist was incredible as well. In walks Ruiz who tells me the odds of success are about 30% (national success rate is 50-70% so super discouraging to start off on that note) then she told me ECVs were "OB voodoo"..... read more
Horrific condescending communicator which can only be gotten away with because of the "tag team" way that UCHealth conducts their OB baby delivery system. In private practice she would be weeded out immediately. Other doctors at UCHealth are great, but this one...
Dr. Ruiz delivered my second baby at Longs Peak, and it was an absolutely dreamy birth experience! She is incredibly passionate about her work and deeply cares for her clients. Her heart of gold truly shines through in everything she does. Now, as a doula, I have the privilege of supporting births alongside her occasionally, and it’s always such a pleasure. Dr. Ruiz is a true gem in the birthing community!
Did not introduce herself upon entering birthing room. Not personable. Very uncaring and not concerned about patient wellbeing. Apparently stitching up after ripping after birth, she doesn’t think someone might need lidocaine when they tell you it hurts. Thank goodness for the caring nurse who suggested grabbing it. Actually I’m kind of shocked that she has a five star review.
She is very personable. She explained the procedure as she was performing it so I knew what was going on. She also is very through. Listening to my concerns. Very glad I was referred to her.
