What should have taken 3 hours tops (according to the nurse during the preliminary examination and during this visit) took 8 hours without notifying us during the process. We had to ask for status multiple times and were told "30 minutes" for over 5 hours. There was no transparency during the process, and they took care of EVERY OTHER PATIENT first and we were the last taken care of even though we were there at OPENING! It can get pretty bleak when you accompany your loved ones for chemo. One of the great delights of this hospital is the volunteer pianist. He was playing Sinatra’s ‘New York New York’ and I was inspired to launch my show dance routine The team is great. It’s like we’re playing basketball with a crappy defence team ( my husband’s age and cancer(s)) but an amazing offense team comprised of superstars in cardiology, urology oncology, GI oncology, labs, infusions, radiology, and pharmacy. The comprehensive team they put together for me was just incredible. The cancer is gone.
I was recently treated at UCHealth and underwent a myomectomy. From start to finish, I was very impressed with every staff member I encountered. I felt very cared for and listened to by Dr. Jamie Arruda and everyone else involved in my surgery and follow up care. I cannot imagine a surgery going any smoother than mine did.
