They are a wealth of information about autism. They hold trainings for parents and teachers on how to work with people who have autism. They work tirelessly to educate the community. They can help families by directing them to the best doctors, dentists, schools, etc.
We child became a constituent of UCF CARD at age 3. Thanks to all that I learned over the years I can proudly say that this organization helped my daughter to develop to her highest potential. She is a contributing member of society and making a great contribution.
I don’t know why people are giving this low ratings. Miss Alicia was amazing and still is. She not only helped me get my child into school, she guided me and listen to me vent. She is amazing
CARD is a great organization that is FREE in all counties in Florida. I am very grateful for this hidden gem as an ECE professional. It is a great resource to recommend to families and people with ASD of all ages.
I totally agree with Sharon in that I too contacted UCF when I first moved her from NJ thinking when they say "related disability" one wouldn't have to be diagnoses with Autism but I was wrong as I was informed that unless we had a diagnosis my daughter did not quality.....I had my daughter evaluated by a psychologist to qualify for VR and he more or less told me that she could easily get a diagnosis for Autism and if I wanted to secure services for her that's what he would do....imagine.....she was 23 came from the finest i... read more
