I visited the small animal ER at around 8:30pm for my 13 year old cat who acutely began grimacing, vomiting, and having difficulty using the bathroom. Within an hour, she was no longer herself and I was concerned her condition would worsen without professional care. Unfortunately, I had an upsetting experience last week when I had to euthanize my old dog. It was about 1 a.m. when I decided the kind thing to do was to end his suffering. First, it's very hard to find the small animal clinic at night with my senior eyes and through my tears. The signs are few and miniscule. Even when you think you've found the parking lot, there are no clear directions to the front door. Then you have to go up stairs or an elevator with a weak and sick pet. I can’t thank the team at UC Davis enough — especially Allison Mattingly. My pup suddenly started showing some really scary symptoms after our walk, so I rushed her in right away. Allison quickly figured out she was having a reaction to a bee sting inside her mouth! The care, kindness, and quick action from everyone there made all the difference. They treated her like their own and made sure she was comfortable and stable before sending us home. I’m beyond grateful for how well they took care of her — truly amazing people.

I probably don't have to tell you, but I will anyway ;)... GREAT doctors, specialty clinics, reasonably priced, amazing communication via portal. I feel VERY fortunate to have Davis Small Animal Clinic in our bkyd, so to speak. I travel a little over an hour & I can say wholeheartedly well worth it. ♡
