The UC Davis Rec Pool looks nice in photos, but the actual experience is disappointing. The space seems designed more for image than consistent student use, with limited hours, overcrowding, uneven maintenance, and staff who often feel indifferent. To me, it reflects a larger UC Davis problem: strong branding, weak delivery. The campus often focuses on appearances while basic services and student support fall short. The Rec Pool is just another example of surface-level appeal covering deeper issues.
Service was rude. Pool smelt like a babys wet diaper probably because lack of chlorine. It was very loud and crowded. Not cool at all come on guys I expected better.
