The pen is small and cheap looking at first impression. It was designed for German School Children. I can only assume the reason that this pen is now so expensive for a rather inexpensive item, would be due to the fact that German School Children no longer use the pens. There is no longer a need to manufacture millions of pens, thus raising the price. It is German made, and manufactured to the standard German perfection, but with inexpensive materials.
