Pathetic system
I am an international student here. Honestly I was terrified to come here after reading the review but I had no choice, ended having one of the best care in this hospital. The attending nurses and the ER doctor are all very nice and the doctor even said good luck to my studying before I left. So basically you go the registration corner and then meet the triage nurse, and they call you to wait in a waiting room or waiting area till the doctor meet you, the wait time in the waiting room/area was about 2 hours for me. The ER doctor here sent me home and said I had a flu and to sleep it off. On the way home, I knew I was dying, so my wife stopped by Vancouver General Hospital where I ended up having heart and kidney failure as a result of septic shock. When I fell clinically dead, the ER doctor who saw me at UBC hospital frantically called me and left messages saying to come back. If I had taken this idiots advice, I would have been dead! Avoid this garbage bin of a hospital at all costs!!!
Of all the hospitals in the Lower Mainland UBC is the best. The staff are great and quality of care is excellent.
It was pretty quick that I got to meet with a nurse but the wait for the physician was a little too much
