Dr. Bean graduated from Hendrix College and attended graduate school at Brown University before returning to Arkansas to complete medical school. She completed her surgical internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at UAMS. After completing residency, Dr. Bean worked in private practice while also assuming a part-time position as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine until 2004, when she became a full-time member of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Seen Ashley Bean in the ER. I came in with stomach pains and very swollen painful lymph nodes. She did not check my abdomen or ask a lot of questions. She gave me an antacid and some blanket antibiotics and sent me home. I went back to my doctor at UAMS the next day & found that I had an umbilical hernia and needed to take Ursodiol for my liver because my levels were high.
