I can’t fault the particular location for U-Haul’s issues. We booked a truck 3 different times to pick up at a location that was never available at that location. The 2nd time we never got a truck because U-Haul overbooked and I was promised a discount for the 3rd time. So for the 3rd time we had to go 45 minutes out of our way to pick up the truck and all we got was a lousy $50 refunded. All in all I will NEVER use U-Haul again.
I had a very disappointing experience at this U-Haul location. When I walked in, I was the only customer waiting. Four employees were standing together having a conversation, and after waiting about a minute, I politely said, “Excuse me, can anyone help me?” One employee pointed me toward another counter without any greeting or acknowledgment. By far the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. I tried to do the right thing. While driving the U-Haul truck, I noticed it was starting to overheat. Instead of risking engine damage, I called U-Haul Roadside Assistance to report the issue and ask for help. Unfortunately, that decision ended up costing me. The roadside company that U-Haul dispatched decided to tow the truck to a repair shop in a different city because they said that’s what U-Haul instructed them to do.
