This little spot goes toe to toe with the best in NYC! Really incredible find! The food and drinks were phenomenal. Literally no complaints. Staff and manager extremely nice and attentive. So happy we stumbled on this spot. We will absolutely be back. We ate in the bar lounge and didn’t do the Omakase, but it was fantastic. The Martinique fashioned cocktail was delicious. This was my second time coming to Two Thirty Six. A new chef had just taken over this week from the old chef. The food was absolutely outrageous and very fresh. I was able to speak to the chef during our experience and learn that he had just taken over for the old chef a couple days prior and had to put together the menu rather quickly. While the overall experience was fantastic there are a couple of suggestions I think the chef could implement to make it perfect. Was going to give 2-3 stars but just to warn the people of the 5.0 rating. Had the omakase, food was mid, not a up to standard omakase restaurant, hot food left on desk to be served, we are eating 'warm' food at last, can't tell the food was designed to serve cold or hot. Sushi was made in batch, with the chef's sleeve touching the fish. Sushi is half the standard size in omakase.
