It’s got two levels, tasty drinks, a quiet space(!), and great drag. I love the music they played and the diversity of the crowd. But some people in the crowd can be a little creepy, and it’s not the most accessible place.
I was here with a group of friends for karaoke on October 15 and experienced what felt like xenophobia. I left feeling quite distraught. I wanted to go up with my friend with her support as I have social anxiety. She goes by two names, and the person running karaoke told us, “A person can only go by one name.” At an LGBT bar, are you serious? I would expect a space like Twisted to respect people’s identities and the names they use. This was hurtful and unacceptable, and I won’t be returning.
The DJ at karaoke tonight was deeply offended that I wanted to go up with a friend who sang an hour before. She took our song completely off the list which was very disappointing to say the least.
As a young person I'm just happy there's somewhere to go and yes it could be better and it gets very hot. But maybe you're not drinking enough
