Not once have I worried about being ripped off , or paying for things I don’t need when I have my 4WD serviced at Turbo Engineering. They always provide detailed explanations of what needs to be done and why. When my car was still under warranty this included what the manufacturer should be fixing before the warranty expired. Ray is about as dishonest and incompetent as a person could be. Did work to my hilux and the motor blew up a couple of days later. Took it to another mechanic who found that Ray had turned the boost up way too high (car didn't have a boost gauge so I never would have known). Also there were loose and missing bolts all over the engine. He tried to avoid blame and got angry when I told him about the issues.

Has given my old little van a new lease in life’s 650kms and going strong. After a few different mechanics, this one is the most reliable and knowledgeable and thorough.

On further research it seems it is a common problem on 1kd engines. The other shop pulled injectors out and changed all the seals, problem solved. For a shop that specialises in turbo diesel problem so... read more
