Dishonest so-called Mechanics. West Valley, Ut Tunex on Redwood Rd was recently sold to a family of so-called mechanics. They told me my vehicle needed a fuel pump to the tune of $800+. I never needed a fuel pump. They did not know what was wrong and conned me into believing that if I did not get a new fuel pump I would be stranded on the side of the road. Thankyou Tunex of Tooele My 1995 Toyota Camery just died in my garage. Ran just fine the day before. Towed it to Tunex and they told me two of the four cylinders had no compression. They asked me where I fueled up at and I told them wherever gas is the cheapest. They told me my injectors were dirty and not closing after I shut the engine off. Over night the fuel would leak causing the piston rings not to seal and no compression. They sold me a fuel injection service and my car has been running fine ever since. I would highly... read more
Excellent honest service Have had fabulous luck with Tunex diagnosing correctly, quoting a fair price, and doing many small repairs free. Service has always been fast. We love them.
Will never go back! Both times I have taken a vehicle to Tunex they have screwed it up worse than it already was or claimed I needed repairs that were not real. The last time I took my van in to be inspected for registration and they quoted me $400 in parts and labor for it to pass. The next day my husband took the van back and the SAME mechanic suddenly couldn't find the problems he quoted me the day before. Okay Service My husband dropped our car off for a routine "tune up" with the promise that it would be done by noon. This was important because with one car, we needed the time to be accurate. The car wasn't finished until 4:00 pm. As with most auto repair, it ended up costing almost double what we were quoted. I think they did a fine job with the tune up but I wouldn't recommend them because I don't feel like they were totally honest with me. Honesty is very important to me.
