i was seen for a primary visit. was charged for a psych eval, level five est patient (long visit, treatment plans, medications, etc are TEQUIRED for this to be billed), and a new pt appt. clearly i wasn’t an est and a new pt at the same time, plus i wasn’t given a psych eval. i called to clarify and the first rep told me that they bill based on time the doctor preps, not that im seen, so its valid. i pushed back and he got rude and told me that if i feel this is wrong, i should reach out to my insurance. i spoke with. superv... read more

"Good" to know that I'm not the only one on whom Tufts dumps responsibilities that the patient has neither authority nor power to resolve. The US medical industry is based on monetization of illness. The sicker one is the greater the profits for the industry. And the typical responses to complaints are evasions, run-arounds, and even illegal retaliation. BEWARE OF THEIR BILLING DEPARTMENT! I'm beyond frustrated with Tufts Medicine's incompetence and lack of accountability. After paying out of pocket for unnecessary medical procedures I was led to believe would help diagnose my ongoing issue—only for them to come back negative—I was then billed for a routine service that should have been fully covered by my primary insurance (BCBSMA).
