Excellent care Dr Nelson is one of the best vets around and the staff were all thoughtful and kind. I've been going there for years for my menagerie, and although they don't have all the frills like, say, Cary Street Vet, they're also a lot less expensive(and let me tell you, I have had some bad experiences with Cary Street.) The vets and staff at Tuckahoe really care about their patients and treat both them and their "parents" well.
Tuckahoe is THE BEST Dr O'Niell is the best. He has cared for my dogs for over 15 years, incuding my BFF when he developed Cushings. He has it all over other vets that I have seen through the years who drag your pets w/o you to exam rooms and do God knows what to your pets. He has always treated my dogs w/ great compassion and answered all my questons about their care,both in person and on the phone. Mr I've been a client of Dr O'neil's since 1990, have gone thru a series of vets and Doc O'Neil has been great. What others have said about professional and compassionate, in spades. For the record, i ran bird dogs for years, and they were my pride & joys, and i dated a vet before Doc O'neill, so i had some knowledge of veterinary medicince before my first visit to his clinic. Cannot recommend him strong enough
Tuckahoe Veterinary Hospital is Exceptional Just put it this way......if i moved 100 miles away I would travel that far to bring my pets to Dr. O'Neil. He is that good. He has treated my animals for 13 years. I love the staff and they will get you in when you need to be seen.
Dont recommend You would expect a nice, clean, fresh smelling office (this is the west end). But the office is old, smells like pee, the staff is aloof. They have animals running around. You will find yourself back and back again for the same problem.... PROS: great location CONS: smelly, old, rundown, dirty looking waiting area
Dr. Oneil is the best I had taken my kitten to 5 different vets....with no answer why he was so sick. I had randomly found this vet on the Internet because its close to my home.After I took Jack in, they knew almost immediately. what was wrong...and tried to help him. To no avail, he had to be put down due to a birth defect that could not be fixed. They were SO compassionate---I have never had to put down an animal, much less after spending all the money previously on other vets bills. They gave me a break on the bill, which... read more
Dr. O'Neill is Fantastic! I have been a patient of Dr. O'Neill's for over 25 years. I have followed him to several different clinics and now travel over an hour to bring my pets to him. I have never met a more compassionate, smart and fantastic vet in my life. He has been such a wonderful part of my pets' lives and mine. I highly recommend him to anyone!
mixed review They seem like they probably care about the animals, but they will run up your bill, be rude, judgemental, offensive and insult you to justify their exorbitant charges. My exclusively indoor cat "was infested" and required treatment. We HAVE NEVER seen a flea and could not even find flea dirt when we got her back. Maybe the reason that they are rarely busy and can see you immediately is because they run their clients off with the mistreatment that they give their clients. I've lived all over the United States and have had numerous vet experiences, some good, some bad and some indifferent. Dr. O'Neill is the best vet I've known.
