Sunday, April 19th, spent the afternoon in Hanover. Stopped at Tsang's Cafe on the way home to Plymouth about 3:30 PM. Was looking forward to some first rate Chinese take-home. Hadn't been to Tsang's for several months, have been patronizing Gardenia which is closer to our home. Well, let me say this stop was a huge, very expensive mistake! $80 plus dollars and I walked out with a bag of some of the worst food I've ever taken out of a restaurant! Just a really fantastic restaurant. Excellent takeout and dine in experience. Extremely friendly and warm staff, a staple of Duxbury!
I was not expecting this in any way. I've always heard great things about Tsangs in Duxbury but last night was not one of them. We called in a takeout order, crab rangoons - over cooked and cold, crispy sesame beef - not crispy whatsoever tasteless a d the meat was rubbery and looked like an odd cut of meat, pad Thai- no real taste, no crushed peanuts no bambooshoots, big slices of onion instead of scallions, and very soupy, spring rolls tasted like old cooking oil. Tsangs was recommended to me by my family, and it was as good as they said! Everything tasted fresh, served steaming hot, great flavor and service was excellent. I ate in and also ordered take out the next day. We dined in during lunch and the lunch specials are really great- good portion and price. I had extra to take home.
