3 doctors in 2 years, each worse than the last. #1 I only saw twice, #2 dismissed much of what I brought up and treated me as irrational, but was at least kind and on top of my chronic issues. #3 is openly hostile, refuses to communicate with specialists I waited years to see and can’t be bothered to find their follow up suggestions in the computer system. Despite reviews, I found Dr. Aleksis to be super thorough with an approachable demeanour. He’s knowledgeable without being arrogant - giving vibes of confidence with humility and respect for his patients.
I’ve been assigned to 3 doctors in less than 2 years since I was told I was getting a family doctor here. There has been no consistency. I can’t follow up on referrals my prior doctor made. It takes 3 months to schedule an appointment. And I keep having to go over the same information again and again. If I call when I’m sick, they tell me to go to the ER. NS Health is absolutely living in another bubble. My wife is in chronic pain from Endometriosis and can’t work now and the office said come in for 8:40am today to get a 5min appointment to get a note so she can start her EI claim.they said no problem. We did. They then tell my wife that it was 8:20am and now they can’t squeeze her in. I heard the phone call and she repeated and said 8:40am. Doctor is great, but only works one day a week. Can't see her for anything urgent, have to go to walk in clinic or ER which defeats the point of having a family doctor in the first place. Must have taken on too many patients? Have to wait four months to be seen, which is insane and unacceptable. This clinic is also not collaborative, which would help solve some of the issues but it's just a name, not a description of how they operate. You're better sticking with the walk in clinic and finding another doctor.
