These guys have taken $13,000 in monthly from me over 5 years and still to this day have never payed out on anything. Any excuse to weasel out of paying. Don’t waste your time or paying them. Take the money for monthly payments and just put in a savings account. And no, I’m not calling the 1-800 number as I have many times just to waste my breath on people that read from a script.
I phoned to cancel my pet Insurance and when I was asked why the agent would not listen when I told her I am not interested in any other of their options that I have a growing bank account for my dog , The trupanion agent not only used fear tactics on what will I do scenarios she also refused to accept me wanting to end the phone call . I would give zero stars if possible. A lot of details are left in fine print that don’t tell you things that are not covered. Yes it doesn’t go up on your pets birthday but you bet it goes up every year. Total waste of money have had this insurance for over a year and have never had a dime paid for any vet visits!
Very disappointing experience with Trupanion. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have continued paying increasingly high premiums over time, but the way this situation was handled was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Absolutely terrible customer service. We have been loyal customers for years and have already dealt with significant premiums and increases in the past, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. Our premium suddenly increased because of an administrative error related to contact information, even though absolutely nothing materially changed : same city, same veterinarian, same dog, same conditions, same vet bills, and same overall risk profile.
