Casual, welcoming restaurant. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location. Food and drinks are re refined and they have an excellent variety. I had the duck, rare. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Maybe it was an off night??? We had 7:15 reservations, but when we arrived it was clear the restaurant wasn’t ready for us — I’m not even sure they knew we had a reservation. The host seated us, and then nothing happened for about 30 minutes. No server, no water, no acknowledgment at all. We finally had to flag the host down just to get some water. I think this is the first time i've bothered to review a restaurant, but I was unusally impressed. We often have the 3 generation problem, where the older folks want a quiet high quality meal, the younger ones want to get up and run around with a french fry in each hand, and the middle ones try to meet both expectations and usually fail. I’ve been to Truffles several times with my wife and we’ve usually enjoyed it. We especially like going when oysters or swordfish are on the menu, since that sets them apart in town. On our last visit, I really enjoyed the chicken, and my wife’s duck was good, though the hash it came with was mushy and not a great match. Overall, it’s still a nice date spot, but it feels like other restaurants in the area have stepped up more than Truffles lately.
We were sat at the bar immediately upon arrival, since we came in before our reservation. We had a few drinks, then we were taken to our table and we had great service and great food! I loved the filet and I would return here again!
