Helpful staff is what makes a hardware store great, and you can't get any more helpful (or friendly, or funny, or kind) than the people who work here. One time I was price hunting online for a gallon of a specific wood preserver. I spent about 20 minutes finding the best price ($40), but decided to stop at Ames' on the way home just to check. Awesome selection of things I need for our pets! Lots of treats my cats love and toys that our dog enjoys. They also have toys, cleaning supplies, some snacks, and all the things you would normally get from a hardware store too. Happy to have this not too far away.
