Really liked this place initially, but it’s wearing a little thin. Food is good, but pricey and the portions are very small. A single meat plate gets you exactly 1 slice of brisket. Service is friendly, but if you’re getting take-out, you must, must, must check your order is right before you leave. It’s convenient, but service is very slow. If there are more than 2 cars in the drive thru, it’s not worth the wait.
A friend and I stopped by True Texas BBQ inside the new H-E-B in Rockwall, and we had a great experience. The food was really good, it came out quickly, and the whole process flowed smoothly. The restaurant was clean, and the customer service was great. The only issue we ran into was that the fountain drink machine wasn't working.
