Unit #12 in this building needs a remodel. I saw other units in this building that were very nice! Our carpet in the bedroom was filthy. The shams on the bed were all torn and there was not a broom to be had in the place! I think the overall building was nice, with a nice little pool and close access to the beach! However; this unit could use some TLC. I actually though I was booking another unit, but the picture was wrong on the website, so this is what I got.

THE BAD: Not impressed by the privately owned and rented Unit #1. No mention is made on 3 different travel sites that the unit is no more than a sidewalk away from a busy main road. 5 lanes of busy traffic right beside your ground level living room and bedroom. Combine that with thin walls and windows and you get little sleep. Not a great place to relax on vacation. We would not return again and even tried to get the room switched. Not being familiar with Daytona, we booked a stay at Ocean Walk. Finding that place TOTALLY unacceptable, we searched for two hours for another. Finding Tropic Shores willing to accept us, we found the front desk representative barely accomodating. There were old (soiled!) matresses leaning against the the wall at the front door and stayed that way for a week. The hot tub pumps were broken for days. House keeping was almost non-existant. the staff was very friendly, It was very clean and a little away from the main traffic flow. a nice quiet area, anice place to be.

Been there many times and returning for 2 weeks this year with whole Illinois family. The beachs are great and clean good place to take things easy with the family.
we were very impressed with the cleaness and the furnishings etc. the gulf boulevard was noisy at times but not toa degree of constant annoyance. we are returning again this year.
