Have always loved this place. Beautiful scenery and view of Mount Hood. Plenty of picnic spots. Fishing ok. Peaceful if you get there early. Board walk in some areas is not in good condition. A lot of broken boards. Not safe for strollers wheelchairs or walkers. The closed section finally reopened. Very nice. Love walking the full loop again.
Loved camping, fishing, swimming and hiking around the lake with the kids and dogs 20 years ago. Just visited again for the first time in years, and things have changed. The kids are grown, the dogs are gone and there was a line to get to the pay station. The lake was crowded with rental boats and SUPs and the trail has been upgraded to a boardwalk in many places. But the view of Mt Hood is still spectacular and the tall, branchless tree at the north end of the lake still stands. Some things never change!
Trillium Lake offers a stunning view of Mt. Hood, especially during the summer when the skies are clear and the reflection of the mountain shimmers on the calm water. The area is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, making it an ideal spot for photography, picnics, or simply relaxing by the lake. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring Oregon.
Went on a Thursday evening. Not too busy. $10 entry fee, and went to “day area”. Beautiful views of Mt Hood, lots of people hanging around, doing photoshoots, in the water. It was the right amount of vibrancy. We also did the trail around the lake which is all flat and easy but very beautiful. Weaves in and out of the lake side and forest and marshy areas. Very cool!
