My elderly friend was brought to the emergency room and discharged a few hours later and she couldn't even walk . She was so weak . She was left outside in the cold ,on her step while her husband went to the fire dept. for help to carry her into the house. My question is "how could you let someone so weak, so in need of care, go home?" Went to Bethesda North ER on Sept 2, 2026 after a blackout. I told staff I was woozy. A wheelchair was requested and refused — “if he can walk, he can walk.” I asked to rest longer. I was told they needed the bed. No written restriction not to drive. I was told to eat, I did, then drove and crashed. UC later found my iron critically low, started infusions, and banned me from driving until Dec 2. Bethesda’s review came back that the care was “sufficient,” and they billed me about $3,009 as self-pay with no insurance on file. ... read more
