Excellent. This place has a good vibe - modern, clean. Water tastes good (important) and the food is exceptional. The fish sandwich is the best I’ve had in north Dallas - not overly seasoned, the fish is the star of the sandwich and is cooked perfectly. Great service. Highly recommend.

In town on business. Decided to check this place. A little skeptical at first, not knowing how fresh their seafood was? Good local beers on tap, broad menu, kind of Southern, kind of Cajun. The Shrimp and Grits really impressed me. I'm from Miami, cook lots of grits and between the blackened shrimp (lots), excellent creamy and cheesy grits, topped with a very interesting chunky creole tomato sauce on top, it made my night!
Ordered the fish and chips twice, and the food was great both times. Consistently good. I've only every gotten delivery so I haven't seen the restaurant.
Starting with the fish and chips, the dish features perfectly battered cod that is crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Each piece was cooked to perfection and I had mashed potatoes which were EXCELLENT. The crawfish étouffée is another standout. Rich and flavorful, it boasts a hearty sauce infused with spices and the crawfiah tails were nice and tender. If you're looking for good AUTHENTIC creole and Cajun dishes, Tricky Fish is a must visit spot.
