The good...there are a few lake activities close by and property, all just a short walk to the shore. The swim dock is nice, but you have to drive to it and we enjoyed the complimentary kayaks one morning. The part no one tells you...you are not really waterfront. No cabins/rooms have a lake view. The lake is behind a lot of trees you cannot see through and down a path that takes about 3-5 minutes to walk. There is a smell of rooting sewage outside and in the water inside. The cabin was clean. For 2 days of our stay the sewage smell was so strong you couldn't even sit outside. The water had a horrible sulfur smell, unable to shower. Luckily we were with family members and some cabins didn't have that problem.
The family run business was purchased by a vacation company. Since the vacation company has taken over the amenities and services have continued to decline each time that we have reserved at Tribesman since the take over. This last visit was our last stay at the Tribesman Resort, we will not be returning. Our room was not cleaned very well, there were items from previous guests on both the counter in the kitchen and on the couch. Rooms are updated, game room was nice and swim dock is wonderful. Water does have a smell but the room had a water filter pitcher and we had no problems. We knew the water from having stayed on Indian Point before. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and more. Ours even had a crockpot and a griddle and they had games and cards in the room also. We love staying on the point for its close proximity to Silver Dollar City and the marina.
