We highly recommend Triangle Karate! Our kids started with Master DuScheid back when he was teaching at the local community center, and we've proudly followed him to his now well-established studio. We drive from Holly Springs to Apex, which says a lot about how much we value this school. Our oldest has been a student for 8 years, and while our youngest first started at age 4 (a bit too young at the time), he stepped away for a while and decided to rejoin last year. Be careful of the "contract" you sign—if your child decides they don't want to take classes anymore, you will be stuck paying for the entire 6 months! Even if you give 1 or even 2 months' notice (which is standard for most businesses), it doesn't matter. The owner will keep charging your credit card for the entire 6-month period. I used to recommend this business to all of my friends, but no longer. Requiring parents to pay for 6 months at a time is ridiculous.
My son attends Triangle Karate and loves going each week. I appreciate that he can go to as many classes as he'd like for the same fee. I was initially concerned that all the belt ranks were in the same class together, but it turned out to be an amazing experience, and I am so glad they do it that way. The higher ranks teach and guide the younger ranks, and it is such a supportive and cooperative environment. My son really enjoys seeing what the higher belts are capable of; it's a great motivator.
