In August 2022 we purchased what was supposed to be a new rebuilt engine and transmission from Tri Star engines and transmissions. In October of the same year we began to have problems with the engine. We took it to a local Chevy dealer for an inspection and found that the engine and the transmission were leaking. We informed Tri Star of this issue and Tri Star agreed to “replace” them. They instructed us to take our vehicle to another mechanic shop which we did. Once the vehicle was ready the mechanic informed us that he wa... read more

Ive been in the auto repair business for 40 years . Have filed a few warranty and labor claims in the past. Since Dec of 2021 i have filed 3 claims with tri star. The first one was an unacceptable reason for the problem. Never got any explanation for the second one just a denial. Should have learned from the first two but tried again anyway. Purchased a 2005 5.3 chevrolet engine for a 340000 mile silverado. Truck ran fine upon entering my shop just noisey from mileage. Installed the replacement engine had a misfire on cylind... read more

My dad bought a tri star 347 it was the worst mistake he could have made. They put 7 plugs right and one so short didnt go into the combustion chamber. Also has a bad valve took pitures with my borescope called the company only to get a run around that they would call me back. Never did call me back that was last summer. Got it running right on my own. I would never buy one from them they dont honor their warranty.

The ordering process from Tri Star has been very simple and painless. We've ordered several engines from them, and they are always delivered on time or earlier than anticipated which is always a bonus. The sales rep. Ryan ***** was great to deal with and was very professional. Informed us of the promotion they had for the winter jacket for ordering an in stock engine. We just received it in the mail and are pleased with the quality of it. When it comes to problems encountered with the engines, the warranty and labor claim pr... read more

Contacted this business 3 months ago. Had several questions about their engines and transmissions. The salesman told me I do not have the answer but would find out and call me back. Crickets. Called back several days later exact same thing, again crickets. Friday the 1st of April called again. Asked the same questions this person (Ryan) did not have an answer but he again gave his word that they would call back with an answer. As I write this, no call. I like dealing with companies who stand being their products and services and unfortunately, Tri-Star is not one of those companies. After begging them to cover my rebuilt engine under warranty, it failed less than a year later. Now they refuse to cover their warranty repair. If you value your engine, keep it away from Tri-Star.
