Few years ago before Katrina food - everything - was great. We ate there quite often for we live about 4 miles away. Wife and I got the runs or stomach pains the last 3 times after eating there. I think there is a new owner for food is not the same. Owner taking care of business in eating area (signing papers). Kitchen help walking around with a food smeared apron on in the eating area not really doing anything just walking around. Place does not have the class it once had. We will not be back. I'm being generous with 2 out ... read more
OMG SOFT SHELL CRAB! My Mom took me to Trey Yuen as a child and ever since I had the soft shell crab there, I haven't stopped thinking about it. I request lunch there with Mom every time I visit home.
Best Chinese dishes in SE Louisiana. Always consistent.
The Wong family dynasty crafts authentic Chinese fare in a serene North Shore setting. – The Scene Backcountry Oriental bliss. A forest sanctuary surrounds the terrace-roofed temple. Walkways thread landscaped bamboo gardens, and waterfalls spill into peaceful koi ponds. Gold-painted red silks line the dining rooms along with heaps of Asian artwork and aquariums swimming with exotic fish. The Food Order with confidence whether revisiting an old favorite or going out on a limb. The sprawling menu is an Asian tour spiked with ... read more
Improvement Needed – Trey Yuen was a great place to get a wonderful meal, but after Katrinia the restaurant smells. Parking lot used to be full with customers - not now. So, I must not be the only one who thinks food is terrible and the musty smell would spoil the eating experience if the food was good. Kitchen help was never seen, but lately one sees them sitting with customers wearing their white kitchen dress or just walking around customer eating area.
Fabulous Chinese Experience – I have been recommending the Wong family's restaurants for over 20 years. They have set the bar by which I measure all other Chinese restaurants in my travels. The Pagoda style of this location is a testament to the Wong familys quest for perfection. If it looks authentic it is. This experience from the food, the ambience, to the service is authentic Chinese with a twist of southern hospitality.
What a country surprise – Surprise to find such a nice Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Worth the long drive from New Orleans.
