I have used Travel Insured thru USAA twice and would not recommend it. It is a tedious process for a claim and a time consuming crapshoot to learn if you actually have the coverage you think you have. My overall experience with Travel Insured is mixed, but skewed heavily towards negative… based on my actual claim experiences. I will file a complaint with my state insurance regulator… I doubt it will help much, but that’s about the only reasonable recourse I have. Very competitive pricing and covered everything we needed for our trip.
Every time we travel out of the country, I buy medical and emergency evacuation insurance from Travel Insured. The cost is so reasonable and the peace of mind it brings is priceless. I have had to use it for a recent trip when my husband got food poisoning at a resort, and Travel Insured covered the claim in full and paid promptly. I highly recommend Travel Insured!
